LHU students named for the finals of Bosch Future Mobility Challenge

LHU has just hit a new mark in the journey of the Bosch Future Mobility Challenge 2023 (BFMC) after 6 months of competition.

Accordingly, the LH-CDC team has surpassed other competitors to enter the TOP 24 and compete at the finals of the BFMC which will be held in May 2023 in Romania.

The team was mentored by Dr. Hoang Ngoc Tan - Program Head of Automotive Engineering Technology, Faculty of Mechatronics - Electronics, including students from Automotive Engineering Technology, English Language, Information Technology majors.

The 2023's competition attracted the participation of 119 teams from countries around the world. After the interview round, 74 teams were qualified to receive 1:10 scale RC car kits sponsored by Bosch, including 11 Vietnamese teams.

To be selected for the finals, teams must perform programming according to the following requirements: Lane keeping, Intersection crossing, Complete maneuvers after the following traffic signs such as stop, crosswalk, priority, parking.

After ensuring the above requirements, the teams must send videos of the car performing the actions on a real-life like map to the Organizers. Up to 24 teams will be selected to compete at the Bosch Engineering Center Cluj-Napoca.

The LH-CDC team of LHU is one of the three teams to represent Vietnam to enter the finals of the BFMC 2023. The other two teams are The Newbies from University of Science and Technology and CEEC-UIT from University of Information Technology.

"Bosch Future Mobility Challenge is an international technical competition initiated by Bosch Engineering Center Cluj in 2017. The competition invites student teams every year to develop autonomous driving  and connectivity algorithms on 1/10 scale vehicles, provided by the company, to navigate in a designated environment simulating a miniature smart city. The students work on their projects in collaboration with Bosch experts and academic professors for several months to develop the best-performing algorithms. For the finals, the best teams are selected, and the top ones will be awarded with great prizes."
