[Press release] Send-off ceremony for LHU’s Robocon team to compete at ABU Robocon 2026

Dong Nai, August 20, 2026 – LHU will hold a send-off ceremony for its Robocon team, which will represent Vietnam at the ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) 2026, scheduled for  August 23, 2026, in Hong Kong.

Attendees:

• Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan, Outstanding Teacher and Secretary of the LHU Party Committee; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lam Thanh Hien, Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh, Vice Rector; Dr. Huynh Cao Tuan, Vice Rector and Technical Advisor; Dr. Pham Van Toan, Dean of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics; Mr. Nguyen Van Thuong, Deputy General Director of Vtourist JSC, a supporting partner; together with members of the Robocon Steering Committee and the competition team.

The team and its goals:

The team, named LH – FOF, won the national final and remained undefeated throughout the season.

The team aims to affirm the position of its team members and LHU, with the goal of bringing honor to Vietnam on the international stage. The team has trained for eight months and overcome many technical challenges.

ABU Robocon 2026 is held under the theme “Kung Fu Quest”, celebrating the art of Kung Fu and the journey to find the secrets of martial arts.

Robots and competition tasks: Each team uses two robots, R1 and R2. The robots must assemble the weapons, carry KFS items to the competition field, and place them on the different levels of a caro board. R1 carries R2 to place the KFS on the top level. An absolute victory, known as “Kung Fu Master”, is achieved when the team successfully places KFS items on all three levels to form a straight or diagonal line on the board.

Strong competitors include Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong (China), Cambodia, India, Indonesia, and others. A total of 16 teams from 15 countries will take part in the competition.
