After completing its journey at ABU Robocon 2026 in Hong Kong (China), the LH-FOF team from LHU, representing Vietnam, won Third Prize and the Best Design Award, further affirming the confidence and capabilities of LHU students on the international stage.
On August 23, 2026, ABU Robocon 2026 officially took place at Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Hong Kong, with the participation of 16 teams from 15 countries and territories. Representing Vietnam, the Lac Hong Robocon team competed with strong determination and advanced to the semifinals.

In the group stage, LH-FOF made a strong impression by winning both matches against Nepal and Fiji, with both victories completed by Kung Fu Master. Notably, LH-FOF needed only 68 seconds to defeat Nepal and 73 seconds to overcome Fiji, earning 6 and 390 points, respectively, and officially securing a place in the quarterfinals.
In the knockout stage, LH-FOF faced the Thailand team and secured a 210–90 victory, while completing Kung Fu Master at the 152-second mark and officially advancing to the semifinals.
In the semifinals, the Vietnamese representative faced Hong Kong Team 1 (HKU). Although LH-FOF could not advance to the final, the team ended its journey with Third Prize at ABU Robocon 2026. In addition, LH-FOF received the Best Design Award and a sponsor's award, once again bringing LHU to the podium of an international Robocon competition.
The journey to Hong Kong was the result of nearly eight months of research, design, manufacturing, programming, robot testing, and strategy development. Each match at ABU Robocon 2026 was not only a competition of speed and scores, but also a test of what the LHU lecturers and students had worked hard to prepare over many months.
With the spirit of “Fist of Fury”, LH-FOF brought to Hong Kong the image of LHU students who are confident, determined, creative, and ready to face challenges.
ABU Robocon is an annual robotics competition initiated by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU). Teams participating in the international final are selected through national or regional competitions.
The competition provides students with opportunities to apply knowledge of mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, automation, information technology, and artificial intelligence to build a complete robotic system. It also helps students develop skills in project management, task assignment, troubleshooting, teamwork, and creativity under time pressure.
The Third Prize at ABU Robocon 2026 is a proud achievement and marks another milestone in the journey of Lac Hong Robocon, where intelligence, youth, and the Vietnamese spirit continue to be affirmed on the international stage.
