    At 14:00 on 9 March 2022, a seminar was held online via the Zoom platform, with the participation of experts in the field, lecturers of FAIE, alumni from Cohort 2014, and representatives of current students.

    Representatives included:

    • MB Ta Thi Thanh Huong – Vice Dean of FAIE;

    • MB Huynh Thi Nhu Hieu – Head of the Division of Business and Commercial Law;

    • Lawyer Nguyen Duc – President of the Dong Nai Provincial Jurists Association;

    • PhD Nguyen Truc Thien – Visiting Lecturer; Judge of the People’s Court of Bien Hoa City;

    • Lawyer Ly Khanh Hoa – Visiting Lecturer; Director of Trong Ly Law Company Limited;

    • Truong Quang Huy – Alumnus; Legal Officer at CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company;

    • Dang Hong Kim Tai – Alumna; Master’s student in Law at the University of Economics and Law.

    To ensure the qualifications of law graduates after graduation in alignment with practical societal needs, the Economic Law major under FAIE, Lac Hong University, regularly evaluates its training program and learning outcomes over the years in order to adjust the curriculum to meet social demands, ensuring that upon graduation students possess sufficient legal knowledge and necessary skills to work in enterprises, state agencies, organizations, etc.

    The seminar was conducted online.

    At the seminar, representing the judicial authority, PhD Nguyen Truc Thien – Visiting Lecturer; Judge of the People’s Court of Bien Hoa City – proposed the addition of Criminology as a subject. With socio-economic development, crime is constantly evolving, with increasing numbers and sophistication of criminal activities, which would make the subject more engaging for students. In addition, it is necessary to increase opportunities for students to attend court hearings in the current context so that they may gain practical insights into legal issues, etc., thereby fostering greater passion for their major. Furthermore, the Faculty should further research the second-degree program to attract students to pursue a second degree in Law.

    Representing the enterprise sector, Lawyer Ly Khanh Hoa – Visiting Lecturer; Director of Trong Ly Law Company Limited – suggested increasing the number of credits for Criminal Law to allow students more time to study various types of crimes in different fields, especially economic crimes, and to ensure alignment with other specialized courses.

    Participants discussed the academic regulations and credit structure of courses in the Economic Law major.

    Representing alumni, Truong Quang Huy – Legal Officer at CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company – proposed moving general education courses to the first year so that in subsequent semesters students could focus on specialized courses. For interrelated subjects, they should be scheduled within the same semester to avoid fragmentation of knowledge. In the final semester, students currently study both English and Legal English simultaneously, which may cause overload; therefore, some subjects such as Anti-Corruption Law, Marriage and Family Law, and Environmental Law should be removed. The subject on Legal Document Drafting should be added to the first semester, and presentation time should be reduced.

    Dang Hong Kim Tai – Alumna; Master’s student in Law at the University of Economics and Law – noted that due to the shortened training duration, several subjects had been removed. Therefore, courses such as Law and Economics or Economic Law should be added; Securities Law should be a compulsory subject; additional subjects on Auction Law and Bidding Law should be included; and skills in analyzing and commenting on judgments should be incorporated into coursework to help students broaden their perspectives, understand practical issues when studying theory, and develop their own legal viewpoints on judgments based on legal grounds.

    Acknowledging the opinions of representatives from judicial authorities, enterprise representatives, alumni, lecturers, and current students, MB Huynh Thi Nhu Hieu – Head of the Division of Business and Commercial Law – highly appreciated the contributions of stakeholders and stated that adjustments would be made for the 2022 cohort.

    MB Ta Thi Thanh Huong – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration - International Economics – expressed her gratitude for the contributions from invited guests, lecturers, and students in order to improve the 2022 training program and learning outcomes to better align with current and future competency requirements for Economic Law graduates, thereby contributing to the development of high-quality human resources for society. Following the seminar, the Faculty will review and make appropriate adjustments based on the valuable contributions received.

    The seminar on the evaluation of the 2022 training program and learning outcomes concluded successfully.
